Government

The major problem - one of the major problems, for there are several - one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.To summarize: it is a well known fact, that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to dothe job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem.

[from the book "The restaurant at the end of the universe" by Douglas Adams]

Re-elections in Karnataka because one set of people 'promised' to transfer power after a few months and another set 'actually believed' the first set.

And what's happening in the centre?
Something to do with nukes and progress and the US of A i gather. You guys tell me. I'm too far away to know for sure.

Nice citiation....now that is a book that I will have to read.. As for the power politics it is childish to say the least. The situation in Karnatka reminds me of time when I was a kid and used to watch the game of gully cricket, Now in the match there was this guy who used to own the bat and everytime he got out he would inisist that he is not out and if the people were still persistant about his dismissal he would pick his bat and head for home...ruining the play for all others......

As for teh centre it is a little more complicated than that....Mrs. G is pushing Mr. M to the front for a deal with US of A and now that communist uncle is not too happy because he feels US of A is bad for the team(read goverment).... There are fresh threats issued everyday and deadlines for the goverment to make up its mind on the policy yet nothing happens
