2 down... ok, almost

I started following cricket when I was 8. So it's been 18years now. Thats how long Anil Kumble has been playing before he finally went out, as he said, on his own terms.

How about that for a void...

I grudgingly admire Ganguly too... the change he brought about in the team and all that... but I guess I'll leave the writing about him to gag or one of the others who genuinely admired him right through.

The departure of the next 3 is only going to be more painful.

ok, lets not get all sentimental here now, that isn't something that happens on this blog on a regular basis. Look someplace else if you want tears, flowery language and all that.

On the practical side... Rohit, Badri, Raina are being billed as the future of Indian batting right?
Has it occured to anybody that the starts they have had to their careers have shown mostly flashes of brilliance and hardly any consistency?
And do they have quite the reputation in the domestic level right now that any of the big 5 had when they started out?

The new bunch sure is talented, attractive to watch and most of them do seem gritty as well, let's not take that away from them. The only problem is, they have very very big shoes to fill. With everybody being excited about the new look team after what they accomplished in Australia and Sri Lanka, the expectations are unrealistic. I almost pity them.
